Highlights from the Dec 2024 - Nov 2025 season.
This covers the period since our last permit renewal in November 2024.
Milestones
November 2024: Hayes Promenade permit renewed with the addition of Saturday mornings, the first ever expansion of our permit. Schedule expanded to Friday 4-10pm, Saturday 10am-10pm.
March 2025: Amplified sound permit established, allowing more live music.
June 2025: Entertainment Zone legislation passed, allowing local businesses to serve alcoholic drinks to-go.
September 2025: Planning and Urban Design study initiated by UC Berkeley graduate students.
November 2025: Large planters deployed into Hayes Promenade. Many thanks to PROXY, ENVELOPE A+D, and Civic Joy Fund for making this happen. Click here for photos from our first planter-filled event.

Come enjoy a night market highlighting local Hayes Valley artisans, and feature electrifying live music, interactive exhibits, family-friendly lawn games and more! Local eateries will have discounted food and drink.
In partnership with the Hayes Valley Merchants Council, Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association, and PROXY, produced by Into The Streets, and sponsored by Rivian.
On Saturday, January 4th, some neighbors brought lawn games out for kids in the morning. Some other neighbors ran a foursquare event in the afternoon. More great examples of community-driven activation of Hayes Promenade.
